Le SYN-1 Preamp est prévu pour recevoir les modules de preamp encastrables SYNERGY. En le combinant avec l'un des modules de preamp encastrables, le SYN-1 se transforme en préampli 2 canaux. Différentes applications sont possibles : en Stand Alone Recording Preamp : le SYN-1 intègre une simulation (activable par interrupteur) excellente de HP avec sortie XLR symétrique et le Sag Control développé par Steven Fryette. Le Sag Control permet de simuler le comportement caractéristique en saturation d'un ampli de puissance d'une tête à lampe. Si on préfère utiliser une simulation externe, on peut désactiver la simulation HP. Autre application envisageable : utiliser le SYN-1 comme preamp en combinaison avec un ampli de puissance. Enfin, et c'est de la bombe : on a par exemple un combo avec une boucle d'effets sérielle ; avec les 3 possibilités de connexion par câble, on peut équiper le SYN-1 avec son module de préampli préféré et l'intégrer à son combo. Par footswitch on active soit le preamp du combo, soit le module de preamp du SYN-1: on élargit l'ampli de 2 canaux supplémentaires. Un combo Fender Clean et un son Lead Soldano ? Le Crunch Marshall avec du Morgan Chime ? Les doigts dans le nez !!

Being for more than 15 years à Modeler afectionado, Fractal, Kemper, Helix and Neural Quad cortex, I gave synergy amps a try, and redescovered the joy of playing tube amps The best of the 2 worlds, I’m using 2 synergy II CP preamps in the loop of my Quad Cortex , with a Fryette PS2 power amp and a 4x12 Mesa cab for live gigs In studios just same settings without power amp and cab, just a IR and some eq in the cortex after the preamps loop Thé real difference is the feeling and the compression sustain of tube preamps, really makes the difference with modelers
What's not to like in this preamp "shell" ? I use it (1) for direct recording to DAW (with the respective modules of course) via XLR with built-in cabsim as well as (2) an "amp extender" with various amps, adding two channels to an existing amp using the amp's power section, and finally (3) as a preamp going to a rack poweramp and to my cabinets. The best about it ? You could do all of this at the same time ! Consider buying two of these with an ABY splitter up front and two separate power amp channels --> more possibilities ! The preamp shell itself has SAG and VOLUME, comes with a footswitch for switch / bypass. Many options for situational adaptation (global ground lift, XLR ground lift, FX loop level, to amp level, XLR level, cabsim bypass). Only thing I will have to observe long term is the ease of inserting a module, which needs a little attention at this early stage of owning (a few weeks). It is a hefty piece of equipment which is inspiring confidence. In short, I love it and will spend a lot of time with it and different modules to fully eyplore the potential of this solution.
Nach den ersten paar Wochen erscheint mir dieser Kauf als einer der besten seit einiger Zeit. Das System ist sehr vielseitig (vor dem Amp, im FX loop oder stand-alone DI, oder eine Kombination von all dem ). Auch ist es einfach zu handhaben und die Bedienungsanleitung für den SYN-1 ist gut. Der Klang (mit einem der separaten Module) ist überzeugend - auch der DI mit cab sim (im übrigen schaltbar) macht richtig Laune und ist wirklich viel besser als so manches andere Produkt was sich als Recording Out oder frequency compensated DI ausgibt. Das Gerät ist robust gebaut und wiegt auch einige Kilo. Kleines praktisches Detail : Man sollte gleich die nötige Anzahl an Kabeln mit einplanen. Die Platzierung auf einem Combo kann etwas wackelig sein.
Kann ich nur empfehlen. Wollte das Modul nur erstmal ausprobieren, gleich behalten und den Kemper verkauft . Egal, ob direkt in die DAW oder in meinen Marshall Vintage 20H es klingt wie ein Soldano. Habe mir das OS noch dazu bestellt und der Bogner Extacy ist auf der Warteliste
